Blue Spruce is Back!

We kicked off our Blue Spruce program in January and will wrap it up with our school wide vote in April. This popular program put on by the Ontario Library Association is always a hit with our primary division and all are classes are participating in reading and voting. Mrs. Cybulskie’s grade 2 class is show here working on their reading response booklets. Some of their responses are then put up on our tracking board (below) outside of the library.

A Very Successful Book Fair!

tree with booksWe wrapped up our first book fair of the year at the end of November. It was extremely successful. With the highest sales yet, we earned over $2000 in book and cash rewards to buy new books for our library (and a few for our classrooms too!) Our theme was “Enchanted Forest of Books” and Mrs. Vierich and helpers made us some beautiful decorations to enchant our shoppers. Thanks also to all the classrooms for their support as well as family night helpers Danielle, Sarah, Mrs. Purchase and Mrs. McTaggart and Katie and my setup crew from 8D. We couldn’t do it without you!
